I Love My E-Bike. Let Me Tell You Why You Should Consider the Aventon Pace 4 E-Bike

“The seat fits me and my lady-parts.”

I bought an Aventon Pace 4 e-bike in November 2025 (check date) at an e-bike event, and I am extremely happy with my e-bike. I attended an event where they had 20+ e-bikes available for test rides, so I felt very comfortable trying out different e-bikes. I knew that I wanted an e-bike that offered a comfortable ride for miles (and miles), was easy on my lady-parts, could carry cargo, had a generous battery, and allowed me to “create” the workout I wanted. After riding the Aventon Pace 4 for over 450 miles over the past six months, I can say that I made the right choice for my needs.

I love riding on paved roads and bike paths, but I also needed a bike that I could ride on gravel or dirt when needed. I wanted to stay under $1,500, and my state offered a $400 e-bike rebate at that time that allowed me to test ride several e-bikes within my price range. I took a test ride on a nearby trail that had a paved path, a steep hill, and a gravel section. I liked how I sat on the Aventon Pace 4; moreover, I felt that I was able to select the appropriate pedal-assist levels and bike gears to allow me to work as hard as I needed to for the trail.

Here’s are the things I really like about my Aventon Pace 4:

  • This bike offers a smooth and steady ride
  • The battery lasts a really long time
  • I can add accessories to the bike (and I LOVE this part)
  • The display on the bike is very easy to read and gives me all the information I need on a bike ride
  • The seat fits me and my lady-parts
  • The seat and handlebars adjust easily so I could figure out the fit myself
  • The pedals are the perfect size and grip for my shoes (I wear tennis shoes or athletic sandals when riding)
  • The handlebars fit my stance
  • The headlight is integrated into the bike and works really well; there is a brake light on the back that alerts other rides to braking (there are turn signals, too, but I don’t really use them)
  • It was pretty easy to use the Aventon screen and app to start riding immediately
  • I love that I can lock the rear wheel on the bike from the display or the app

There are always things that I wish were different on anything I own, and this e-bike has a few things; it’s not really anything that would keep me from buying the bike, but things I wish were different:

  • It feels like I should order all my accessories on the Aventon site, but that’s not really true. I found many items inspired by the Aventon site but were cheaper on Amazon
  • The app needs updating more frequently than I would like; there have been a few times that my ride was delayed because I had to update my app first or my display on my bike would not work
  • The app and display screen need training to use all aspects – I wanted something similar to Apple products where they give you a quick overview on the important items. I must say that I probably didn’t give it the time it deserves when I set up the app
  • The kickstand is located too far back and pops out at an odd angle; the bike lists to the side, so it’s a little hard to keep it stabilized if I have things in a pannier bag on one side or even in my back basket

The Ride – I found that I could control the bike easily when I first hopped on it. The step-through design was very important to me because I’m not going to get better at stepping over a high bar. My regular bike has a higher bar, and it drives me nuts. I like being able to move around my bike easily, and that includes stepping through the middle. The seat post bounces with my movements, so big bumps aren’t an issue. I assumed I would have to buy a new seat with any bike; however, this seat has tush-cushining in the back and a little dip for my lady-parts. IYKYK

Make no mistake, this e-bike packs some workout power. As with anything, it’s really up to you and how hard you want to work out. I have a paved 17-mile route to a neighboring city that takes me along a river and up some steep hills. If I stay in Eco mode most of the time and use the bike gears wisely, then I can burn anywhere from 575-700 active calories (according to the outdoor bike workout on my Apple Watch). If I use the Eco mode most of the time and use the Sport mode for portions of the steep hills, then I burn above 500 active calories. My heart rate stays between 140 – 170 for the bike ride, depending on the hills and the temperature outside.

The battery lasts a long time. The specs say that it can last up to 70 miles on one charge, and I have been able to ride about 60 miles (four 17-mile round-trips on my favorite bike ride route using Eco mode about 50% of the time, Sport mode about 30% of the time, and Turbo about 5% of the time) to get the battery to 15%. I haven’t gone below 15% to fully test that 70-mile claim, but I think it’s true.

I am an accessories girl, for sure, and my e-bike was a blank slate just waiting for all the little doo-dads that make my bike rides enjoyable. At first, I bought only Aventon accessories (fenders and rear rack), but I thought the accessory choices were limited on the Aventon web site, and that is NOT the case at all. I will post reviews on the accessories that I added to my e-bike.

If you are looking for an e-bike or deciding if an e-bike is for you, I really encourage you to check out the Aventon Pace 4 (and updated Pace 5) bike. Use the good ol’ Google to see if there are any bike events in your city so you can try more than one e-bike or you can head over to any bike shop that carries Aventon e-bikes. Don’t buy the first e-bike you try; ride a few e-bikes over the same path to check how they ride. Check your county, city, or state for e-bike rebates; your local bike shop should know about these, but it’s good to know the amount that will be subtracted from the original price.
